[CGC] Comments from Bob Thompson re: Wharf Purchase

By now you have received the announcement that the Town of Centreville has
purchased the Centreville wharf property from the developer who was
attempting to build thirteen condos and a commercial mixed use development.
This is very good news.

I want to commend the Town for stepping in and purchasing the property.
This is what the Citizen's of Greater Centreville and others before us have
fought so long and hard to accomplish.  For almost twenty years and through
four attempts at development, the citizens of this town believed that this
parcel of land should become a park for all to use, and they fought with
their efforts and check books to make it happen.

We should all be proud of what has been accomplished.  I look forward to
working with the Town, County and State to make this parcel of land a
showpiece for the citizens to enjoy.
